The new guide from l’Espresso was released in October with a selection of the best Italian restaurants and with a new system of assessment : the hats (from one to five).
Great attention has been dedicated to the Pizzerias, especially the ones in Campania and Naples. L’Espresso has selected the 38 best places to eat the best pizza. With great honour we are on the list!
Mattozzi Restaurant and Pizzeria is one the 38 best Pizzerias in Naples. Paolo Surace is thrilled. Pizzaiolo and owner of the business he said: “we are proud of this recognition proud of being one the best pizzerias in Naples. All the hard work and the passion we put into our work we transmit to the pizzas that we prepare and our customers are able to recognize it. I’m grateful to my father Lello Surace who taught me all the secrets of the job. The Mattozzis are 4 generations of pizzaioli and we are happy to continue this important family tradition.
Mattozzi Restaurant and Pizzeria is a historical business in piazza Carità. Its doors have been open since 1833 and through the years it has collected recognition and certification. The restaurant-pizzeria is part of the Association of the Centenary (which unites the pizzerias with 100 years of history) and the historical businesses of Italy, of course we are members of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) with the license plate number 2.
Lello Surace together with Antonio Pace founded the AVPN in 1984 and since then they have been involved in the protection of the Pizza and its traditions.
